Canceling trip online now requires DOB

This is brand new. I cancelled a trip tonight that I booked about 12 hours ago. Before it would let me cancel it required my DOB to be entered. I guess United has been hit with fraudulent cancellations so they want to confirm identity now?

This is the first time they've asked for PII when cancelling a reservation. Yes, I was logged in when I brought up the reservation.

Maybe United should stop printing the PNR code on BPs so wandering eyes can't see that and the passengers last name and screw with the reservation? (Cancel, change seats, change flights, etc.). Not that I mind entering some confirming details so they know it's me canceling the trip. Just weird that it's started now.
