IME sometimes, especially for domestic flights after an international arrival, if you don't get PreCheck during OLCI, it can help for use a kiosk or have an agent print your boarding pass at the airport, etc. Getting an additional random draw or two increases the odds of getting what you want on at least one boarding pass.
