I have three young children and I've traveled many times with the bassinet option. It has worked out great every time. I've never heard of a 9 month age limit. Perhaps I've been lucky. I traveled with my 1½ year old daughter back in May and got the bassinet. Call back and see if you can talk to a different rep or maybe your child is just 8½ month this time....
