I'm not sure if it's treated differently via product change, but back when you applied for the card and was approved the PP membership package shipped automatically but obviously took a few days vs the overnight card delivery.
That's exactly what the rep I spoke to said. She said it was automatic for new applications, but she wasn't sure for product changes, so she said she would make sure the request was put in.
