I don't have a problem using a phone... it just needs to be "native". Using Hyatt's mobile key forces you to open the Hyatt app, wait for it to load, click some buttons, then hold it to the door for awhile. Really it should work just like Apple Pay does... you put it in proximity to the lock, it recognizes it's a Hyatt lock, picks the right "card" and unlocks it without any additional button pressing/interaction.
Yup. And I know some people will start saying "oh what's wrong with a card, how attached are you to your bloody phone". Perhaps so, but then perhaps oddly, I am far less likely to go out of my room without my phone than I am without my card - attribute it to whatever you want - so I just want it to
work, opinions be damned.
