Just curious, is this regular postal mail or email? Was it in response to a query you made, or is this like an announcements mailing list? Can you share the full text?

The TSA web site says

https://www.tsa.gov/travel/frequentl...ts-apply-clear

Do REAL ID requirements apply to CLEAR?

Yes, the REAL ID requirements apply to passengers using CLEAR and passengers enrolled in CLEAR will need a REAL ID or other acceptable form of ID starting May 3, 2023.
However this does not say that the REAL ID will need to be presented on every trip through security. Granted it doesn't explicitly say you won't either, but my interpretation of this is would be that updating your ID within the CLEAR system to a REAL ID is sufficient (and having it available to produce on demand, if selected for a random check). If I'm wrong about that, well, wouldn't be the first time
