You have complete control over your own vehicle so if there are any delays or interruptions, that should be on you.
On Chase Sapphire cards you would be covered for non-refundable road trip charges (ie hotels, tours) if you were unable to make it to your destination due to things like weather delays or a family emergency / illness. Chase doesn't have a common carrier provision for their coverage - you just have to be 1+ mile away from home and charge a portion of the trip to the card.
Trip cancellation/interruption coverage is one of the areas I think having cards from both ecosystems works really well. I put all airfare on Platinum where the coverage includes the additional/alternate transportation coverage, and hotels and rental cars on Chase where coverage is enhanced (primary rental CDW) or more inclusive/less strict. Coincidentally this also aligns the charges to the card with the most favorable earning rates in those categories.
