at T-24 AA will take over the ticket. Only disadvantage that you will have to call to rebook. Online rebooking option will not be available.
I usually book on AA but a few times when I booked via third party and AA cancelled the flight inessential always able to call and rebook even days before the flight l. But that was due to AA cancelling the flight, I think that’s why.
If you book on Expedia for the same day travel you can get a full refund, that’s the only advantage I guess
