I put an award reservation on hold and we're ready to book. It's for my husband and me in business class, for a total of 150,000 miles -- 75,000 miles per person. It's on hold as one reservation though, not two. We each have 75,000 miles in our account. Is there a way to book this with each of us using our own miles? I have tried calling but cannot get through, and when I choose the "call me back" option it will not take non-US phone numbers. Help?
You can do this but you have to call unfortunately. Can you call a local reservations number?
When you call they will have to split the reservation into separate PNR's, then each PNR can be booked using miles from your individual accounts.
Also, have you checked if award space is still available by chance on your flights? If it is, you could just cancel this PNR then rebook 2 separate PNR's.
