Yesterday morning c. 8:15 am at SFO terminal 1 checkpoint line for CLEAR, the South Asian male ahead of me was asked by the TSA screener for TSA-acceptable ID but he had none while his wife had some. He pulled out his Chase Sapphire Reserve card and some other bank cards with his name on it at the request of the TSA while waiting for the TSA to get someone to do the alternative ID verification method for him. I was after him and his wife and was in the PreCheck line that merges to the same point as the CLEAR line and was in no rush. He said next time he will again start bringing photo ID. He was expecting CLEAR to work like usual there, but it didn’t.
