I'm ticketed on a QR award flight. Can I change segments?

For example, I'm ticketed on JNB-DOH-IAD. The DOH-IAD leg currently doesn't have space.

If I want to switch the first leg, say from JNB-DOH to CPT-DOH (which has space), can I do that and keep/adjoin it to my DOH-IAD leg?
