I think what is happening is that the flight is open but the airline needs you to confirm/accept the flight/schedule changes before you are freed up to review your itinerary's seat map when viewing from within your reservation.
This happened to me and now that the flight changes have been accepted, all of the seat maps are properly visible.

No option to confirm/accept changes.
Just says:
"
Your flight changed
Please check back soon to see what changed."
So we'll wait a day or two and if it doesn't change or let us choose then, I guess we'll have to call in.
