On the next day's flight to San Francisco - they had a beverage service (I got a soda for free, I think alcohol costs extra), but you got only that one complimentary drink for the 11 hour flight. Anything beyond that one you had to pay. Again, a practice that I have never seen on a legacy carrier.
I'm not going to rant and say I will never fly SAS again - but this chintziness sure leaves a bad taste in one's mouth (so to speak.)
Welcome to Scandinavia. Imagine little kids on board - they dared to offer my toddler tea and coffee!
You have one bottle of water regardless of the length of the flight with SAS (as you said - long haul only), and the food was so salty that makes you drink half a bottle for a meal. They also gave out drinks just after take-off - the first time I didn't realize it was THE drink I'm going to have for free during my TATL flight.
I'd rather fly with others even if I have to change plane somewhere, this is how I vote with my wallet.
