If I were being a cynic I would say UA doesn't want to tell me they're going to extend me because I've still been flying (and more often recently on other airlines). My 2019/2020/2021 spend was something like $60/$40/run-rating back at $60 this year. 99% domestic F. They probably don't want me to know I can take my foot off the gas.
That's an interesting suggestion. I have flown $17K and have another $18K booked to date. In previous years, that would have portended $50K or so for the year.
So yeah, maybe there's so some algo that recognizes that future revenue; they figure it's better to wait rather than endanger it by prematurely re-newing GS status.

interesting. Did you get this email in the last few days as the other emails went out, renewing GS for everybody else?
