I have an upcoming cash stay (total stay will be in the five figures). The resort is asking for 50% deposit, saying that they normally require a full 100% deposit but they're making an exception just for me of only 50% deposit. I'm really uncomfortable with this given the chances that someone in my family will test positive within 4 days of the flight. Trip insurance is useless since CDC has Maldives at Level 4 in case the resort decides to hang on to the deposit or takes months to refund it. Has anyone else encountered a demand for 50% deposit from WA? Is it unreasonable for me to insist on only paying a deposit when we check in?
