If you have a day free, don't miss Nikko
If I were staying here, I'd be sure to take at least a day trip to Nikko, to see the splendid World Heritage-listed shrine complex and brilliant Fall displays - and maybe a quick trip "up the hill" to see Lake Chuzenji-ko and the Kegon waterfall in the brilliant Fall colors. You can take the -Nikko train from Asakusa, conected to the Asakusa subway station, faster and more economicaly than using JR, as I recall.
