Evening all - a couple of questions about a tricky situation.

A couple of weeks ago I posted about trouble getting some friends over to MEL. They were booked on Qatar (through BA) 03 AUG LHR-DOH-MEL but due to the restrictions in place in oz they were removed from the flight (although it is still flying). Managed to get them on an SQ flight instead - at great expense.

Some questions about this left over BA/Qatar booking.

- Even though the flight was not technically cancelled, they were removed and would not be allowed to board the plane - will BA give a full refund in this case?
- Is there an EU261 (or equivalent) angle which they could benefit from here? To cover some of the SQ ticket...
