Regarding the covid test, since you had a 5-night stay I am assuming you took the government-required covid test on day 4. Just to clarify, are you saying you were given the choice by StR to have it at the hotel rather than Hamilton for $75 extra, or go to Hamilton to get the test for free and use the certificate for travel?
They offer on site testing for $75 per test downstairs in the kids club (temporarily closed). Instead of paying $150 for me and my wife to get tested, we hired a taxi to go to Hamilton for the free government tests (which took 10 minutes and was super efficient!). This allowed us to walk around Hamilton to check out some shops and grabbed a nice lunch at Devil’s Isle Cafe. We also worked in a pitstop at the crystal caves on the way back. So for $100 round trip, we saved $50 and made a day of it to see more of the island than we otherwise would have.
