Let's say the paying person can not fly due to (INSERT REASON HERE). But the free person is going to fly for sure. The free ticket person is willing to buy a ticket to get home, but does not want to pay last minute pricing. We all get that.

So, you both check in online as normal. You go to airport with your boarding pass and ID. Go through security. So far, so good, right?

But - when you get to the gate, you board with the paid person's boarding pass. The airline might be looking for the freebie person, but if they no show, no problem. And away they go.

Illegal of course, but easy to do.

If an intl flight where they check passports as you board, then you could have a problem.

Side note: guessing your "friend" is not vaccinated and maybe you are?
heck, guess u haven't read latest news or kept up with current events; vaxed ppl could still get tested positive; I'd plan ahead or prepare worse case...

fyi, I'm not a companion; rather a holder here; any rate, don't bother to reply or discuss this matter anymore... already got the answer from WN
