Concerned: JFK-KEF booked, but now showing unavailable when searching same itinerary
Hello all,
I booked JFK to KEF over a month ago for a departure of October 30 2021 and return of November 6 2021.
I have received no updates on any cancelations or anything, however, 2 days ago I was trying to look at my seats via the app and it would say unavailable.
Today, out of curiousity, I tried searching the same exact itinerary and it said unavailable. This got me worried, so I looked via the price calendar feature on Delta's website and everything BEYOND October 22 is "unavailable", which is coincidentally 3 exact months from today.
I waited 9 hours via the Delta App to be told "I see we are not flying out to that destination for a while, so you are eligible for a refund or you can keep and if something do come up we will book you on the flight". I asked why wasn't I alerted about this since I have a reservation, with their reply being "it should have sent an email to you about the cancelation". I said "no, I recieved nothing", to which she replied "sorry would you like to keep it or have it refunded back to you, is there anything else I can help you with?"
I just told her to keep the reservation as is. Can someone with prior experience tell me what this could possibly mean? Purely coincidence that the booking availability ends exactly 3 months from today? Or is there news of Delta discontinuing service to Reyjavik?
