When CTX machines went main stream the TSA advised against putting volatile things like computers and such through your checked luggage. The thing about a ctx machine is that the beam can be programmed to "reslice" an object repeatedly. This would mean that the object is resubjected to high exposure repeatedly. Since it is IONIZING radiation, where do all those stray electrons go? on another subject, how many of you have had a few static electric bites picking up your laptop at the checkpoint? Those nylon rollers for the x-ray table are maddening generators of static charges. I have been shocked THROUGH the rubber gloves. Now lets see if I recall my ESD classes, it takes 20kv to be felt on skin. It takes less than 1kv to damage something. Yet its biting through Nitrile gloves? Hmmmmm
