I can answer the breakfast question - breakfast is in the restaurant, Weft & Warp. I was never told about any dollar limit, but I also just ordered pretty normally and didn't try to push it. I've always ordered a main breakfast dish, a coffee drink, and one of their cold pressed juices, and have never had any issues.
You could get rooms next to each other. And I think that there are some connecting rooms.
As for suite upgrades, the TSU books into the Sonoran Suite, which I do not recommend unless you specifically are trying to make sure kids have their own space - it's basically two standard rooms put together with one of them having a desk, sofa bed, and chairs rather than a bed. It's a weird setup for a single or couple.
There are data points of free Globalist upgrades getting put into Saarinen Studio Suite, which I frankly prefer to the Sonoran Suite.
