Agreed. Any bad weather, delay getting an open gate, or other issues could be problematic. You also might make it, but without your checked bags. You could take the Skytrain to cut the time to go between gates in MIA Concourse D if you land and leave from there.
AA flies MIAUIO 3x daily. Even if somehow OP misconnects there is another flight 4 hours later. I wouldn't be stressed out about this connection.
