I have been trying the standard HUCA routine to get the GGL agents to process a GPR at the old standard rates but the messaging I am getting, even from agents that by all accounts know how to manually do it (which are hard enough to find...) is that they are officially being told not to/blocked from manually making such changes. I truly hope that is not the case and will try to escalate and shake the tree a bit here, but any recent experiences getting a GPR to price at standard rates?
When booking using BA companion voucher, it correctly calculates the trip on standard avios prices:
But when booking without the voucher it prices like this:
So GPR would cost 80k avios and £1?
26k avios to save £49? that's a pretty bad value.
Given they can price at standard avios prices correctly for the companion voucher, I'd argue they should do it for GPR too. I haven't tried it recently but I might do it just to have an argument with them and escalate.
