You theoretically could book the other seat in someone else's name, however booking dummy tickets that are never intended to be flown for the sole purpose of holding inventory or seats is against the CoC.
Honestly you are way overthinking this whole thing. I would just go with 1A or 7A and be done with it.
Fair points...I need to just decide between 1A, 7A, 7L or 10L. Its 4 seats theoretically. And 3 days out if its B/E just hope a window is open somewhere in the front cabin except for 1A or 6L as they are by the Lavs. Even a 2nd cabin window would be fine. Even though its 60/40 for B/E there would be so many more possible seats to switch to for BE than there would be if I held 3L and then tried to switch if its Zodiac so ya I guess you're right. and I see why most people dealing with this book the seat for Zodiac to enusre no rocking.
