I wonder if these things have been put on hold in the United Kingdom?

The last amenity I received (as a Gold member) was at the Pullman, Miami Airport in February 2020. Since then I have only stayed in the UK. During the brief respite last summer, I stayed in both the Mercure, Southampton and the Novotel, Bristol (twice in each hotel). I became Platinum (as a result of the double status nights and the carrying forward of some of last year's nights) earlier in the year but have only recently stayed at the Novotel, Birmingham, Novotel, Leeds and the Mercure, Darlington. I didn't receive a personal letter at any hotel and at the two Mercures I wasn't even upgraded to a Privilege Room (either as a Gold or a Platinum). In every Novotel I was upgraded to an Executive room, but the fridge was always empty of the usual free soft drinks and there was no small gift given anywhere.

I am guessing that all this has to do with not entering the room after cleaning.
