Also for hotels I'd only transfer UR to Hyatt (minimum of 2cpp for me). As someone suggested, just pay cash, using IHG points doesn't make sense either when it's under 0.5 cpp, I just booked a 4 night stay in LA area for 47K (4th night free) before 10% point rebate after stay, the cash rate is now $660 (HI El Monte) so it's more than 1cpp.

IHG award stays are incredibly volatile, for me part of the fun is tracking the points needed and lock in the lowest possible points per night.
