You've been a member of FT longer than I have so I have no idea really, what you know or don't know.

But you did not give the forum any guidelines in order for you to receive an answer....so I'm posting to ask you questions.

IMHO, there is no such thing as a best route to use points. My often used reply is "if you ask 10 people, you'll get 15 answers".

Other than saying you're in YUL, you did not provide dates, how many points you may have to work with, and most importantly, where you want to go. I could tell you that you can possibly find a flight for 5,500 points one way to YYZ in lowest Standard. But you may not want to go to YYZ. If you say you're interested in CDG or ICN or IST, or tell us what you've already searched, perhaps more answers will be forthcoming.

As for flying "cheaply", again, we all have different definitions of cheaply. Do you mean lowest points possible in Economy or Business or????

You say you can't find good deals on the routes you tried, but you never said which routes nor provided any other info.
