The press has reported (can't find link right now) that the gouvernment will act as guarrantor for AZ tickets after mid-October and has established a fund. That said, several routes will be dropped and there will be teething problems, to say the least. I wouldn't book with AZ/ITA for at least several months, even though I do hope they survive and thrive. Had too many experiences with airlines liquidating (ask me about SN in late 2001) to want to do that ever again.
