By contrast, me arriving as one of the last to board in Club when sat in row 1 a few years ago and no overhead space anywhere. I just asked the crew if it was ok for me to pop my roll-aboard into the closet. Met with an "absolutely" as well as an alternative offer to remove the bag in the small locker eluded to on the A319 above row 1 which turned out was a crew bag and a suggestion that it was placed there to save the space for me. I'm a realist and appreciate this is unlikely to have been the case and that had I created merry hell about the locker being full and that it's "MINE" the crew bag would have likely have stayed there for the duration.
Exactly. Always keep toys in pram - the CC will know if you're a regular traveller anyway and that, combined with lots of politeness usually gets the best result without anyone getting stressed.
