Exactly this. And in particular the way in which you interact with others who can be helpful to you in such a situation. Throwing your toys isn't generally going to get you far, it's just entertainment for the onlookers for the most part. By contrast, me arriving as one of the last to board in Club when sat in row 1 a few years ago and no overhead space anywhere. I just asked the crew if it was ok for me to pop my roll-aboard into the closet. Met with an "absolutely" as well as an alternative offer to remove the bag in the small locker eluded to on the A319 above row 1 which turned out was a crew bag and a suggestion that it was placed there to save the space for me. I'm a realist and appreciate this is unlikely to have been the case and that had I created merry hell about the locker being full and that it's "MINE" the crew bag would have likely have stayed there for the duration.
