I'm probably in the minority, and would clearly annoy passengers across the aisle from me, but on single aisle aircraft I always put my cabin bag above the seats across the aisle. Firstly its much easier to keep an eye on it in flight and secondly, it makes it much easier to retrieve the bag when disembarking as it saves turning 180 degrees in the aisle.
its you people i dont understand. what are you keeping an eye on for a shorthaul flight lol. its incredibly annoying when i see people do this. but again, its a free for all and first come first served.
