The only time I’ve seen deposits actually get charged in advance of a stay has been at Zivas where they charge the full amount 14d before arrival. But when I’ve made bookings <14d before arrival date I haven’t been charged at all until check in, which makes me think the process is somewhat automated at the Zivas, at least.
my recent experience at Zilara Cap Cana was that it was charged about 2 days prior to checkin.
the rate also did not show up on my folio. When asking the agent, she said they don‘t see those charges, as it is handled by central reservations…
