Here is my stay report from my recent night at the Grand Hyatt Nashville - a wonderful hard product:

I arrived around 9 AM and had noticed that my app only listed my upgrade as a 1 King Corner. When I first spoke with the associate, I asked about suites and said that I would wait for one, if necessary. The associate said something similar to "but, you're only booked into a King Corner." I responded that I was a Globalist, and they looked down and said "oh." They looked for a minute and said that they had a Grand Corner Suite (a premium suite based on the points rate) that needed to be cleaned. They took my number and stored my luggage for me while I walked around the city. The associate had mentioned that they would be shocked if it wasn't ready by Noon. At around 1 PM, I arrived back to the property (quite hot from the humidity) and asked another associate if the suite was ready yet. They said it wasn't and that they couldn't guarantee it being cleaned until 4 PM. I sat down for a few minutes in the lobby and then headed back out into the city. Once I was in the entryway, I heard the original associate running after me with my keys (I guess that's good service :-)). The other service mishap was that Housekeeping knocked on my door about 10 minutes after I got into my room and asked if I was checking out or staying an extra day.

My Grand Corner Suite on the 7th of 24 floors (the 25th floor is just the rooftop bar) was amazing. Located on the SW corner of the building facing Broadway towards Midtown and Union Station, the views were wonderful. The living room faced Broadway, and while a bit narrow, it had a large and comfortable couch. The bathroom had a very large floor-to-ceiling window next to the toilet along with dual vanities, a mirror with embedded clock, and a large walk-in shower (no tub). The bedroom was very large and had a comfortable lounger couch next to the large corner window. I loved laying in bed and seeing the clock tower of Union Station (who needs a digital clock?) - this was honestly one of the few times I appreciated a low floor location (also, the elevators here were quite slow - a trend I noticed throughout Nashville). The bed itself was incredibly comfortable - super plush, like I love. The decor was generally dark and really reminded me of a Thompson with its blues, oranges, and dark woods. However, because of the huge number of windows, the room was never dark.

The pool on the 5th floor was located right under my bedroom window, and despite the loud music, I could not hear it from my room. The pool was super popular, but I really enjoyed my morning swim next to Union Station.

The associate at check-in mentioned (after I asked) that Globalist breakfast was either through In-Room Dining or at the Nashville Grange. He said the limit was around $65. I ate in the restaurant (there was a buffet option on Sunday morning) and ordered a waffle and sides of eggs and bacon a la carte. The food was all quite good. I also got hot chocolate, and while the mug was very pretty, the hot chocolate itself tasted a bit watery. Still, I love an in-restaurant hotel breakfast! The Grand Club off of the lobby was still closed.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again due to the amazing hard product I experienced in the Grand Corner Suite. I will liken the somewhat-odd service interactions I had with growing pains.
