A couple thoughts on experience of same day change:

1. the app never updated that I had made my standby flights
2. frustrated that the waiting list data doesn’t include gate I formation
3. called night before and got conflicting information—-flight full don’t go to airport. Flight has a couple of seats and you are number 1 on list. Good shot. Ended up that first flight that was full cleared 10 off of the standby list
4. really didn’t like not having ability to choose seat. Not sure that status is helpful in this regard
5. told that they clear standby at boarding time but second flight had everyone printed out— got stuck in last row of CRJ. Grateful to be on but not liking location
6. my original flight later today is asking for volunteers. Seems a miss that I wanted to change and AA wanted to free up space. I would love ability to choose other routings instead of just the original. That would give so much more flexibility.
   

Oversll, worked out all right. Would like more flexibility and information in the process. grateful to be home early.
