On July 14th 2021 I bought a ticket on Latam website and got a message saying that payment worked, but due to an error tickets were in the process of being issued. As I did not get any update about the tickets in the next 24 hours, I contacted the help center.
After long hours trying to get someone on the phone - most services are automated - I got different agents opening cases but not fixing the issue. I called Latam in Brazil and they told me that that I had to repurchase the tickets. However, an authorized charge to Latam had appeared on my credit card since I made the ticket purchase in their website. The agent in Brazil opened a third case requesting the purchase cancellation but nothing happened in the next 48 hours.
The flight I bought tickets for leaves in 9 hours.
Now I’m waiting for them to cancel the purchase.
It has been an extremely disappointing and time consuming experience. Communication with Latam agents is very hard and their website is always unresponsive.
I recommend people not to use Latam website to buy tickets. Pick REAL and less awful airlines.
Does anyone else had bad experiences with Latam?
I called Latam Chile phone number and fixed the problem in 2 days
