Question...how does standby work on CPU'd flights? I never take standby but I'm always fascinated by the app offering me standby flights in "PZ" class. Does that mean I'm only actually standing by for first class? Would I get a coach seat based on original fare class? There's only one standby list; it's prioritized by fare class, and I suspect that the PZ would probably (incorrectly) be used as your priority order -- so you'd be ahead of someone with the same status but any economy fare class. If you cleared, you'd end up in economy. I do
not think it would confer displaced business class passenger status (the famed "PR-1" from UA of yesteryear), jumping you up the upgrade list ahead of everyone else. Even if it did, you'd probably have to clear onto the flight before it would matter -- and CPUs clear before standbys do.
