The difference between the UK and Germany on masks is an interesting point: in the UK most people use cotton masks, but here the requirement (on transport etc) is for at least a surgical or FFP2 mask.
I see this as a big difference in practice too but I’m really wondering if it actually makes a difference or is merely ‘cosmetics’ and to make people feel good/better.
The vast majority of infections must surely (still) happen in the “meeting friends and family space“ and the type of mask makes no difference walking past someone in Sainsbury’s or EDEKA (or when you put your mask on in the Red Lion or Hofbräuhaus to visit the facilities...)
