It's new as in the "new normal". Calling early seems to be the best bet - you'll either get told it's a wait of 15, 30, or 45 minutes minimum, or just cut off. What particularly grates about the "cut off" message is that it's preceded by 10 seconds of nonsense talking about how BA appreciates my continued patience... and that of course is after about a minute and a half of automated guff before I can even find out if I've won the game of "queue roulette" this time.

And while I'm on the subject, please BA stop telling me that BA.com is the solution to all my travel needs - if it was, I wouldn't have to wait on hold for an hour listening to you telling me at least 10 times in the process.

I remember asking before if the relevant status line you call has any bearing on where you end up in the BAH queue. My guess is that we are all in the same traffic jam here...
