I had 5 minutes to get into the Sky Club snatch some food to take with me before I started to walk 5 miles to my gate. Never again. That's the worse airport that I've ever been to. It doesn't get any better, only worse. The Delta lounge was very open and spread out. That's the only thing positive.
You know, I really don't get all of the hand-wringing and pearl-clutching over the size of this airport. The distance from the Sky Club to the (current) end of A concourse is *less* than the distance from the "center A" club at DTW to either end. The overall length of the A concourse when completed will be less than the A concourse at DTW. The distance from the end of B concourse to the end of A is less than the same measurement at DTW.

But, but, but.....DTW has a TRAIN!!!!!

The distance from the end of A at SEA to the Sky Club is more or less the same as the distance from the end of A at SLC to the Sky Club.

The fact is that it is comparable in size to many major airports in the US. Ever made the trek from the ticket counter to the Delta gates at IAD? How about from the Sky Priority check in at JFK T4 out to the end of the B gates? All about the same.

I am starting to think that all of this anguish comes from a combination of not being familiar with the new airport (no landmarks) and the FT propensity to complain about EVERYTHING.
