I learned of Hyatt’s HealthCare Friends and Family Rate (HC) rate in April. It’s been very generous for me, I’m quite appreciative. Since then 4 different hotels (3 Hyatt Place, 1 Hyatt Regency) in 3 different states, 9 stays. HC rate for all 4 hotels remarkably the same at $109, savings of $20-$60 per night, twice presumably at high demand times the HC rate at the same HP was $139, saving $40-$80 per night. Received all Globalist benefits every time including (Glob) expected points and nights credit.
One potential quirk. April 2021, Hyatt Regency LAX, 3 nights HC rate $109, called Hyatt 1 day prior to apply 6,000 points per night suite upgrade award (well worth it at Hyatt Regency LAX). Central reservations told me the rate I was booked at was not eligible for upgrade, switched me to lowest upgrade eligible rate of $149 per night. Fortunately and graciously, at check-out the FDA credited $40 x 3 to the folio. Interesting that the next day the on-line folio had changed again to $149 per night, call to the hotel resulted in $120 credit to the same credit card so all was good and I remained a happy camper.
