I purchased a DCA-MSP ticket using my Schwab Plat card (through the Amex travel portal, actually). Got to the tarmac today, sat there for 90 minutes, and then flight was sent back to the gate and cancelled shortly thereafter. No flights available today for rebooking. Was originally supposed to fly Wednesday and return on Friday. AA automatically rebooked me to a flight on Thursday morning with the same return on Friday; I then called and asked for the return to be moved from Friday to Saturday to keep the same amount of time for my trip.
Would AMEX cover the cost of the hotel I had in MSP on Thursday that I wasn't able to use and/or the cost of the hotel on Friday that I had to book because the original flight was cancelled?
