Unfortunately, you may be correct. I posted the same thoughts:
As said before, I will/may still use another country of residence, but I can still see some "problems" doing so. For instance, the "other country rate" gives you a rate with "all insurances". Now something happens with the car. Will they check, if your reservation was "correct"? Worst case, I may have to pay for the damage...!?!
I still hope - if something happens - I am covered with my "credit card insurance" (CDW). Am I...?
