Seems unlikely for a Hyatt Place property to go to a category 5, don't you think? The only HP property I can think of that is Cat 5 is in downtown San Francisco. Even HP Waikiki is a Cat 4. Either way, the rates at HP Old Port are insane and I have encountered this property playing games with award availability so anything's possible I suppose.
I have no idea, I am very new to the details of the Hyatt program. I was assuming that prevailing price, not hotel type, may determine category (happens with Hilton and Marriott). For example not even the “luxury” 50,000 point certs work for at least two of the Marriott Courtyard/Residence Inn properties in peak season here.
I would get these certs in 1H22, so we will see I guess.
