is it worth visiting ankara?

I've already booked my flight leaving Turkey for another country. So i have 5-day gap before leaving the country. I don't want to keep staying in istanbul.

Most places in Turkey are hot now. Most cities are expensive to fly into if I just book less than 10 days ahead except Ankara.

Is it a good idea to visit Ankara during the 5-day gap time? I like nature or historical sites, not a bag fan of shopping.

or do you guys recommend any places near Istanbul less than 2 hours by public bus or boat distance?
