Baggage on half Y half F intinerary
My wife is booked for HSV to EWR via IAD and plans to check a bag.
The HSV to IAD flight is EMB145 so in Y obviously. She’s currently still in Y for IAD to EWR on a320
The upgrade for the IAD to EWR is $65. Usually I wouldn’t upgrade on a short flight like this but she’s going to check a bag and doesn’t have status or anything. If she upgraded the 2nd leg would she still be able to check her bag for free at HSV checking in on the first leg even though in Y? It’s all on one ticket.
If that’s the case then upgrading seems to make sense since the bag would already cover half the fee.
