DL 302 | JFK-SFO in DeltaOne
Breakfast - Tuesday, July 13
767-400ER
Choices were:
Spinach and Egg White Frittata (looked like larger versions of the egg bites from Starbucks) over potatoes and chorizo sausage
Lemon Ricotta French Toast (what I got)
Chia coconut "pudding" (a rebrand of them calling it oatmeal... I heard from the flight crew they got CONSTANT complaints from people when it was oatmeal and then came cold)
Purser came to confirm everyone's order preflight. Small water bottles at every seat. No PDB or hot towels.
No drink cart, everything served from the galley.
No amenity kits (despite them being advertised and reports you could get them on request).
No cookie or in-flight snacks despite the app advertising snacks (crew reported no snacks for D1; eventually got stuff from the back).
The French Toast portion is small (essentially its one piece of bread with a thin spread of lemon ricotta between. Served with a side of bourbon peaches and no syrup. Purser said the peaches were supposed to be the sauce but it was super dry.
All plates got a warm croissant with the new "cultured butter" by Banner. I couldn't taste a difference.
Every plate got a side of the "chia pudding". It is so utterly vile. No flavor (it's not sweet) and its like wall-paper paste.
Do note the French Toast comes with a side of chicken chorizo sausage. It has a decent kick to it (I don't like that it was next to the French toast and peaches, the sausage grease got all into everything and made it taste weird.)
The purser and other D1 flight attendant (there were 7 FAs on this flight, normally on a plane with 240 people it should be 5-6, so maybe Delta is upping flight crews on TCON?) both suggested to write in and complain about the food. They're just as frustrated about it as the customers are. The crew was SUPER nice and attentive.
Rate this a C-/D+. The only redeeming factors were the warm croissant and fresh fruit that wasn't all cantaloupe as it often is.
