I wanted to reserve my seats so we can get the windows seat as I discovered from the seat map the seats in the middle of the cabin is 4 abreast. to do this is going to cost over £240.
Being a bronze member I am entitled to reserve the seat for free 7 days before check-in opens.

My question is is it worth the risk to leave it until 7 days before to save £240 or in other words what's the likelihood that all windows seats will be taken 7 days before.

Your Guidance would be greatly appreciated

There's always a risk but my suggestion is to check the seat map regularly. If there's still plenty of pairs available then hold off until 7 days but if the cabin is filling up then book the seats. You can also pay for seats using Avios as the BA website tells me, no idea how much this costs though

Also if you have Avios you can upgrade using Avios if there's redemption seats available. You will still earn the points for the paid part of your ticket (i.e. WTP tier points), if you're a bit short it might be worth doing the maths to see how much purchasing and excess Avios needed would be
