I find Bonvoy broken just about every day. I am moving almost all stays to Hyatt, which I find to be competent. It may mean I just barely miss or make Titanium. I’m at the point I don’t really care. The extra points would be nice, as would saying I have UA status since I will lose DL this year most likely due to not flying enough.
But, every time I contact Hyatt, I am spoken to politely, they act interested in resolving my requests, and do whatever they can to fix them, even if it takes a little bit of time. They don’t mind calling properties (which Marriott has recently begun refusing to do for me), and they also reply in a prompt timeline. I am only an explorist currently, but am treated better on my stays recently than my Marriott platinum stays.
On paper, I am losing a lot by staying as an Explorist, but in practice, I find that other than breakfast, I am not losing that much by shifting my spending over to Hyatt. They may change soon, especially with their adoption of Peak/OffPeak/Standard awards, but for now I find them competent, and that’s the biggest reason they are getting my business whenever possible.
