"If 666 million people sat on your couch, think of all the spare change you'd find between the cushions.
I'd guess it would be somewhere around $321,329.
And 48 cents.
That's how much in pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters passengers have left at airport security checkpoints since October 2003...
...If nothing else, the loose change could help defray some of the costs of the 2-year-old agency's awards banquet, which cost almost a half-million dollars.
Not all of the banquet, mind you. But maybe they could get a couple more $1,486 balloon arches or $1,850 cakes. Or maybe give out those sweet $16,000 bonuses to more than just senior executives.
Perhaps they could invest it by overpaying Boeing (for installing explosive detection equipment) a little bit every year, rather than in one lump $48 million overpayment like they did this past year."
